The Montana Urban and Community Forestry Association (MUCFA), NorthWestern Energy, The Northern Rockies Tree School, and ISA Rocky Mountain Chapter are offering EHAP training.
July 25 Noon – July 26 Noon, 2019
Hilton Garden Inn, 3720 N. Reserve St., Missoula, Montana
Goal: To meet the requirement of the ANSI Z133 for working around power lines. In 2017 the ANSI Z133 was updated. One of the most notable changes is in section 4 – Electrical Hazards – specifically the expansion of the rules for working in proximity to electrical hazards to recognize three levels of qualification: the unqualified, the Incidental Line Clearance Arborist and Utility Line Clearance Arborist. This is a sizable expansion on the topic from the previous version, and specifically details the safety requirements of each of these tree worker positions.
Who Should Attend: Those in the tree care industry that work around power lines.
Instructor: Dr. John Ball, CTSP: Dr. Ball is a Professor of Forestry at South Dakota State University where he instructs courses in arboriculture and forestry. He also instructs courses at SDSU for emergency medical technicians and is also an instructor for pre-hospital trauma life support. He also has worked in the line clearing industry and serves as a campus arborist.
Training Materials: EHAP materials are provided with registration, including the EHAP manual, Z-133 Safety Standard, and enrollment into the EHAP Program.
